Let Them Eat Disney Treats: Tokyo DisneySea Snack Guide
Any fan of Disney knows that part of a fulfilling Disney park trip includes feasting on all of the delightful treats the park has to offer! Each park has its own unique spin on its food creations, but I have to say, I think Tokyo Disney Resort takes the Mickey-shaped cake among all the parks in offering the cutest and more affordable treats that guests can enjoy!
In this post, I wanted to share some of my favorite treats when I visit Tokyo DisneySea and share some of the must-haves I think you should definitely give a try while you’re there. So let’s dig in!
Seasonal Treats
As someone who loves going to Disney parks every so often, one of the things that keeps things fresh and exciting are the seasonal treats. You never know what new delightful treat they’re going to offer that you haven’t tried before, and that’s part of the fun! So I always recommend checking out the seasonal treats to see what you might want to try since it most likely won’t be there the next time you return!
However, I’ll try not to include any seasonal treats here so that whatever you find here that looks interesting will most likely be on offer during your visit!
Coffee Tapioca Latte
Location: Mamma Biscotti’s Bakery - Mediterranean Harbor
Price: 600 yen
I’m a big coffee-drinker and can’t go a single day without it. As an Anaheim Disneyland local, I’m definitely spoiled with all of the seasonal cold brews that are always available, but when you’re in the Japanese Disney parks, finding yummy coffee drinks is actually quite difficult. Most quick service restaurants offer black hot coffee, but that’s about it! So when I found the Coffee Tapioca Latte at Mamma Biscotti’s Bakery, I was sold.
The coffee is strong enough that you can really taste the flavor of it. The coffee jelly is really good and not too sweet, and the tapioca pearls are actually perfectly chewy and a really good texture that I honestly didn’t expect! The drink is slightly sweetened but really not by much so it’s really great for people who don’t enjoy super sweet drinks. It gave me all the energy I needed to take on the day and honestly, I still crave it sometimes! This drink is a must-have for me every visit!
Ukiwa Bun
Location: Seaside Snacks - Port Discovery
Price: 600 yen
The Ukiwa bun at Seaside Snacks is so cute and so delicious! The bun is in the shape of a cute little lifesaver buoy with a shrimp paste filling. You get it steaming hot with a super soft bun similar to steamed buns that you can get at Dim Sum restaurants. This is a really yummy and nicely filling snack. The line at Seaside Snacks is often long since this is the only location that sells this, but it moves quickly!
Sea Salt Monaka
Location: Ice Cream Cart - Mermaid Lagoon
Price: 350 yen
If you’re looking for a cute themed treat that’s cool and refreshing, this is a great option! They sell the monaka along with other ice treats in an ice cream cart located inside Mermaid Lagoon. The sea salt monaka has a shell-shaped wafer outside that’s slightly crispy and is filled with a sea salt vanilla ice cream. In the center of the ice cream is a berry compote filling that is slightly tangy. I enjoyed the berry filling that added some tartness to it and really enjoy getting this when I visit, especially when it’s hot out!
Green Alien Mochi
Alien mochi purchased from Mamma Biscotti’s Bakery in a to-go container. Great way to take this snack home!
Location: Mamma Biscotti’s Bakery - Mediterranean Harbor, Alien Mochi Cart in front of the S.S. Columbia
Price: 400 yen
These little mochis are a must-have when you’re visiting the Japan parks! They are so cute and so picturesque, and they are so yummy too! They come in a pack of three with the following fillings: chocolate, strawberry, and custard. My personal favorite is the strawberry filled mochi, but they’re all good. You can find these mochis at both Tokyo DisneySea and Tokyo Disneyland.
When I visited, Mamma Biscotti’s Bakery offered these in the evening time as packaged mochi packs that you could take home with you. They came in a little cooler bag as well to keep them cold while we took them back to our hotel and enjoyed them there at the end of the night!
During the daytime, the Mochi card near the S.S. Columbia has them in the cute plastic cups that are perfect for pictures!
Flavored Popcorn
Location: Popcorn carts around the park
Price: 400 - 600 yen
Truth be told, I’m not a popcorn fan. Buttered popcorn is not my thing, and I have never once bought popcorn at the U.S Disney parks. However! Japan’s popcorn culture is a whole other thing that definitely warrants exploring. The flavors are seasonal, so you definitely need to check and see what’s available when you go to figure out which flavors you want to try. But the one flavor that I know is a staple since it’s been there during every trip I’ve taken is the Garlic Shrimp popcorn that’s available at one of the popcorn carts near S.S. Columbia. This flavor is so savory and has a strong garlic flavor; it makes for a great savory snack.
Mickey-Shaped Churros
Location: Churro carts around the park
Price: 350 yen
Why doesn’t every park make Mickey-shaped churros?? It seems like such a win, and yet the other Disney parks don’t offer these! You can find them at either Tokyo DisneySea or Tokyo Disneyland, and they are so cute!
The price is also considerably affordable given that churros in US Disneyland are now $5.50 each!
I do I to say, I think the flavor and texture is a little lacking compared to the US Disneyland churros, but the Mickey shape makes it a must-get for me!
